The DMC Network’s strong reputation as well as its future success is based upon two critical sets of standards - those which we use to locate and evaluate our member organizations and those that we use as our standards of operation.
Our standards for consideration include:
- Five years of business as a DMC and a Member in good standing with the local CVB
- Professional affiliation with the Association of Destination Management Executives
- A minimum of two management level staff that carry a DMCP or CMP professional certification.
- ADME accreditation of all DMC Network Members will be mandatory by 2009
- Five Client References and Two Vendor References
- A Minimum of $2 Million of Liability Insurance
- Active Membership in at least two nationally established professional organizations
- Two Bank References
Our operational standards include but are not limited to:
- DMC Network members will provide prompt acknowledgement of all client and prospective client inquiries within one business day.
- DMC Network members will provide customized proposals within 72 hours of receipt of an RFP unless otherwise communicated and agreed upon with client.
- For scheduled site inspections, DMC Network members will conduct due diligence to confirm the availability of venues for specific event dates prior to site unless otherwise communicated to client in advance.
- DMC Network members will arrange for program staff to be accessible by cell phone 24/7 beginning 24 hours prior to program start through the duration of the program.
- DMC Network members will contact hotel CSM no less than one week prior to program and be available to accompany client to scheduled pre-con.
- DMC Network members will keep and maintain updated records on key suppliers including Certificates of Insurance and specialized Permits.
- DMC Network members will provide final complete and accurate invoices within 10 business days of program completion.
- DMC Network members will request a performance evaluation on every program.
Some of these terms may seem very rigorous while others appear to be obvious criteria but the fact is that a many DMCs don’t adhere to or operate within these guidelines. It is upon this need for a set of recognized ‘best practices’ that the DMC Network was founded and continues to thrive.
