The Challenge
- Coordinate a top-notch event that invited guests to experience the decadence of Mardi Gras, the mysterious world of Voodoo and the elegance of the Old South while providing the ultimate Southern hospitality while supporting our city's struggling tourism and hospitality industries, and local artists and entertainers.
- To bring the very best food and entertainment in a cost-effective, eco-friendly manner.
- Effectively and efficiently manage ever-changing service requests and successfully deliver what initially appeared to be an impossible feat.
- To work closely with the caterer to ensure the use of biodegradable and recyclable paper and plastic goods, bring in local produce and seafood to cut down on air pollution and wasteful energy.
Our Plan
Accent on Arrangements-DMC volunteered to oversee all designing, planning and production of the Professional Convention Management Association's Opening Welcome Reception. The New Orleans Metropolitan Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Professional Convention Management Association turned over all control to us to plan this involved event. We also took responsibility of coordinating all aspects of the event including design, production, food and beverage, entertainment and logistics with the committee members.
Our Solution
To create and execute an Opening Welcome Reception that would have guests return home relaying the message to colleagues, friends and family that "New Orleans is back and better than ever!"
