He may be the newest member of the DMC Network team, but Chris Baker brings over two decades of experiences in the hospitality industry to the group.

Chris originally joined the DMC Network’s Chicago partner, CTC Destination Management, in 2000 as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Following on from the acquisition of CTC by Accent Indy in 2016, Chris took a second destination under his wing in Indianapolis, taking on the role of Vice President of Business Development for both destinations.  During these years Chris used his extensive knowledge of both destinations venues, restaurants, attractions and entertainment to help clients achieve their meetings, events, and incentive program visions throughout Chicago and Indianapolis.

Chris is a certified DMCP professional, won the Ovation Huggability Award in 2014, the DMC Network Jill McGregor Spirit of Excellence Award in 2015 and sat on the DMC Network Board of Managers for seven years from 2009 to 2015.  He is an active member of industry associations FICP and MPI and can regularly be found on the social circuit at all major industry trade shows and events – this guy is no shrinking violet!

Chris’s hands on approach with clients, his passion for the travel industry and his incredible work ethic makes him a popular choice with all clients – it’s no wonder the DMC Network snapped him up to join the Headquarter team!

While Chris’s work clearly keeps him busy, he has 3 beautiful nieces; 11, 10 and 6 – who are the apple of his eye and help him keep the balance between work and family.

Chris’s sociable personality can be further seen when you look at his social life.  A fitness fanatic – Chris hits the gym at least four times a week, practices Bikram Yoga, plays golf, and ran the Chicago marathon…twice!

Is there one thing that Chris can’t live without?  Bacon!  Try spending a day with Chris and you’ll see he lives by the mantra that ‘bacon makes everything better’.  Chris, we like your style ☺
