The Passions Behind the People
Take a look at what Matt Cuevas, CEO of Cappa & Graham, is in love with...
The memory... I wouldn’t be a good parent if I just picked one... so I am lucky enough to have 3 amazing memories. Each one of them is of my children being born at home with a truly amazing wife who is a superwoman through and through.
The hobby... Definitely surfing and golfing…not that I have too much time for either these days (3 kids will do that to you). Nothing is better than starting the day off by jumping into the cold waters of Northern California or teeing off while the sun is still rising.
The time of day... Those final moments before the sun begins to rise, everything is quiet except for a few happy birds chirping in the distance and a fresh cup of coffee that is percolating and calling my name. Philz coffee for those who are curious, hands down the best!
The vacation... Driving down the California coast with my wife and 3 kids (ages 7, 4 and 10 months) in our sportsmobile campervan with a final destination of Santa Barbara, Carpentaria or Encinitas campground overlooking the Pacific Ocean. We try to do this a couple times a year and everyone has a blast... sometimes simple is just better.
The book... The Adventure of Captain Underpants series… my kids love them and therefore I must love them too... as I have to read them over and over and over...
The TV show... Silicon Valley on HBO. A bit over the top yes, but as I work and live in the middle of this amazing place, those writers and actors are spot on.
The hero... Anyone that looks at the status quo and just decides to swim upstream and take on the conventional route while creating a whole new standard in the process. Revolutionaries, not evolutionaries.
The necessity... A morning green drink... my wife would be so proud of me right now. Yes, she makes them every morning and they are the third thing I consume on a daily basis, coffee of course being the first followed closely by water.
The luxury... Finding, making or just taking the time to spend with my family. Coaching little league baseball is one luxury that takes a lot of effort but is also so rewarding.
