The Memory...

3:00AM thunderstorms over the Atlantic from our beach house. Watching, listening, and feeling their power… majesty… intensity… and otherworldliness is insane.

The Time of Day...

Any colorful and still Sunrise or Sunset.

The Activity...

Picking up the kitchen after supper.   It’s my corner of our home… and I enjoy the solitude and mindless, rote activity so that I can easily go over the day’s successes and opportunities… and how I can improve upon the latter.

The Smell...

Baking aromas!  Breads… cookies… pies!

The Alternate Job…

Should a leprechaun relinquish his gold to me, I’d like nothing more than to volunteer in a library, specifically, in the children’s area where I’d host reading sessions… storytellers… and hopefully instill the joys of reading written words on paper.

The Feeling…

A job well done.  Extra points if it’s done on a confidential basis.

The Accessory…

Kind words; especially ones for those who customarily don’t receive them.

The Snack…

Depends on who’s watchin’!  Popcorn if I’m being virtuous; Mrs. See’s Candies if I’m solo in the house binging Netflix!

The Place...

Easy:  those ancient, soft, and mysterious mountains of western North Carolina.  The four seasons there are distinct and defined… and each is just as beautiful and has its own unique and dramatically-differing personality.

My fire-engine red ’78 drop-top VW Super Beetle, “Hank.” He’s a keeper.

It’s corny but it’s true:  marry your best friend.  I did, and, I’ve had zero “buyer’s remorse!”  He’s also a keeper!
