Trade Fairs & Congresses

Blessed with its central location in the heart of Europe and good flight and train connections, Germany is the world’s number one venue for holding international trade fairs. Around two-thirds of the world’s leading trade fairs take place in Germany. Every year, the country hosts around 150 international trade fairs and exhibitions from various industries, attended by 180,000 exhibitors and around ten million visitors. From the 22 trade fair venues in Germany, three of them range among the five largest exhibition grounds in the world, which are Hannover, Frankfurt and Cologne

When talking about international congresses, Germany and Austria are also taking a lead position and both countries are under the top congress destinations worldwide. Vienna and Berlin rank under the top four worldwide destinations as host cities of congresses. Modern congress facilities, professional congress management, easy access and good hotel capacity are the key factors for this success.

In terms of architecture, transport/logistics and technical features, both countries offer exhibition grounds to satisfy current visitor and exhibitor needs and offer professional organization. The host cities have a great capacity of hotel rooms to accommodate national and international guests and feature everything a trade fair guest today requires.

Vienna is a melange of magnificent architecture, music and endearing charm. The Austrian capital is known for its castles, imposing baroque buildings, the gothic St. Stephen’s Cathedral and its elegant coffee houses. Once a celebrated art noveau metropolis, art is still present everywhere.

Vienna is a city of contrasts – traditional sights next to modern landmarks, traditional hotels and palaces for cocktail receptions or gala evenings next to modern architecture and modern design locations. A charming city full of new development in a historic ambience. In the direct surroundings of Vienna or in the lovely Wachau area, vineyards invite to a visit and a tasting of Austria’s extraordinary good wines.
