Aoife's view: a new role, and an Exchange abroad
My 2022 highlights: I took on a new leadership role within the DMC Network this year and the whole experience has been such a highlight! Between new partners joining the Network, the return of our incredible Exchange programme, our biggest-ever tradeshow presence at IMEX America, and a record year for delivering incredible client experiences in each of our destinations, we've been busy, and the ride has been amazing.
For the new year ahead: We are taking our DMC Network Exchange programme international for the first time in 2023, which is really exciting. One of my resolutions for next year is making sure that our event in Milan and Lake Como is one of the most incredible experiences our clients have!
Cindy's view: meaningful connections, to carry into 2023
My 2022 highlights: Getting together with our team and our DMC partners in Atlantic City certainly tops the list: seeing everyone and being able to hug in-person! A close second though would be the authentic conversations I had with clients at IMEX in October. It was refreshing to be able to make personal as well as professional connections, and to catch up with clients, colleagues and friends.
For the new year ahead: I hope we do not forget the lessons of the pandemic in taking care of ourselves and others and giving people the benefit of the doubt that they are giving their best. Some people are still struggling with displaced childcare, aging relatives and more, and all of our businesses are better when individuals are mentally and physically healthy.
Still, I think 2023 is going to be productive and fun! We’ve overcome so many obstacles in the last few years and are ready to create engaging and authentic experiences.
Chris' view: progress, growth, and more to look forward to
My 2022 highlights: Finally, we re-opened our industry and reconnected with so many colleagues and clients. It was an honor to partner with everyone on invaluable, in-person, face-to-face meetings and events. We also returned to IMEX, FICP, MPI and other in-person industry events! Our own event also returned, and Larry and his team at Destination Philly A.C. so impressed all of us at this year's DMC Network Exchange.
For the new year ahead: Although domestic programs returned fast and furious, I’m really looking forward to many of my clients returning to international programs. We'll also continue growing our internal team, the DMCs that we represent, and the loyal clients that we work with.
Lindsay's view: up close with clients, all around the world
My 2022 highlights: Strengthening existing relationships and forming new partnerships. This year, I spent a lot of time on-site in our DMC Network destinations with our clients — from Ireland, to Austin, the Bahamas to Boston, I got to experience firsthand how our DMCs operate their programs locally.
For the new year ahead: We'll all be working hard to grow the Network brand and cement our role as the go-to, trusted destination experts in our locations. For me, continuing my involvement with key associations like FICP and IRF will also be important for 2023. I'll be on the road a lot, but wouldn't have it any other way!
